Tips for Maintaining Healthy Skin During Halloween

Source: associatedcontent.com Author: Christy Vowels Published date: 2008-09-23

The days of fall are upon us. As the Halloween Season approaches plans and preparations for that perfect Halloween costume must begin. Although Halloween can be fun it is important to remember that this time of year can also wreak havoc on your skin. As you begin preparing for the Halloween Season here are some important tips that will help to make this a good holiday for you skin.

Focus on maintaining a good skin care regime. This should include both cleansing and moisturizing your skin. A good moisturizer will not only help to keep your skin healthy but will also allow for smoother make-up application. It is important to make sure that this regime is continued throughout the Halloween season regardless of busy your schedule becomes.

Avoid using heavy oil based make-ups if at all possible. Although you may think that bright pink face paint will add to your costume consider the effects it could have on your skin before you commit to it. Seek out ways that you can get the same effect using a lighter oil free make-up to minimize the impact on your skin.

Try to choose a costume that will allow you to utilize the make-up you already use on a daily basis. This can be very advantageous as you already know how your skin will react to this make-up. It will also be good for your budget by keeping you from spending money a make-up that you will likely only use one time.

Avoid masks that cling to your face. As you wear a mask for any length of time you skin will sweat and as the mask rubs and it could cause skin irritation or break-outs.

Make sure to thoroughly remove any make-up and cleanse your skin as soon as possible after you return home from your Halloween event.

Avoid eating large quantities of candies and sweets if you are not accustomed to it. Even though the effects of diet on your skin are often subject to debate, why chance it. Maintain your usual eating habits throughout the Halloween season. Both your skin and your waistline will appreciate it.

Always remember to drink water. Water helps to cleanse and purify your system and this includes your skin.
